No man stands taller than when he bends to help a child.

The Mansion Ride was conceived in a cab riding to the airport.  A driver asked his passenger for a donation.  He was riding for AIDS.  He proceeded to tell the passenger that he'd already raised $13,000.  At the time the passenger was helping a struggling school, volunteering her time to help the cause by creating a video that would raise awareness for children battling autism.  The passenger handed him a heartfelt donation, and told him about the cause that kept her up at night wondering how she can improve their circumstance.  She asked "Who do you know with AIDS?"  The driver responded "No one.  I just like to ride my bike."  The Ascent program gives children with autism a chance, and their families hope.

6 months after their first meeting the passenger called the driver along with 10 of her friends she knew were avid cyclists and with lots of hard work the Mansion Ride was born.

Just some of the progress since Mansion Ride started- Dan can ride his bike.  Julia is in her own school district learning with her peers. Jake is pottie trained. Max can read and write.  Conor started job training at a restaurant. Aaron can do math and in 2005 transitioned into a full day regular district program. Little Conor is playing with his brothers, and playing sports.  Megan is dressing herself.  Robert can shower on his own and is transitioning to his regular school district.  Armando is speaking in sentences and danced at the Hope on the Horizon dance in 2006.  Abby is making eye contact.

The Autism Mansion Ride is organized as a fundraiser by volunteers dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children and families battling autism.  Your registration fee goes a long way, but more funds means more help for the cause.  100% of all money goes directly to Ascent School.  There is no greater feeling than knowing that you have helped a person in need. Start today and learn the remarkable feeling of accomplishment that selflessly fundraising for a worthy cause can bring you, and the people you will have gathered to support you in your plight for this cause!
